PLEASE NOTE:

This is a newly designed end cap and not a direct replacement for the old style. The old one mounted with 4 screws and this mounts with 2 rivets.

 Compared to the previous end cap, the new design offers the following improvements:

1. Modified insertion geometry; increasing the engagement of the molded end cap into the aluminum extrusions. This design change increases the stiffness and rigidity of the connection between the molded end cap and the aluminum extrusions.
2. Increased wall thickness of exposed end geometry surrounding the lower end cap adding strength to the slat design.
   
3. Added feature in molded end cap to fix and maintain the proper gap setting between the two aluminum extrusions. This prevents the shoe bottoms from being "pinched" by the aluminum extrusions causing increased sliding forces and noise when shoes are being diverted.
4. Previous 4 bolt, expansion nut design has been replaced with 2 drive rivets. Reducing the hardware, eliminating the need to do preventative maintenance on the upper end cap hardware torque values, and greatly increasing the force required to pull the end cap out of the aluminum extrusions.
   

If updated version had not previously been installed, the installation jig, rivets and lower cap would also been needed. Additionally it is not recommended that a mix of cap styles be installed on any single slat- they should match from end to end.
